Winter is almost over and spring is here. Soon enough the rain will settle down and the gorgeous weather of San Antonio will welcome locals to the sunshine and fresh air in their lungs. A popular destination for locals and tourists alike, San Antonio is booming with something for everyone come spring. Whether you’re looking for a family activity or something to do in your spare time, San Antonio is the place to go!


Surrounding San Antonio are a plethora of great hiking trails. From beginner to expert, the trails here are worth your while. In addition to length and difficulty, the trails of the Alamo also offer a variety of scenery.

One of the top trails in the area is Mission Reach– an 8-mile trail south of downtown which is paved and an extension of the San Antonio Riverwalk. Taking you through historical districts, this is a trail for anyone to enjoy.

Amusement Parks

With something fun for any age, San Antonio has a variety of known amusement parks. For the more adventurous, SeaWorld and Six Flags always have a lot to see and do. SeaWorld is a great place to get the family out while also learning about the wonders of marine life. For simple family fun, Six Flags will have your family screaming for fun.

In addition to those parks, San Antonio is also home to a family-friendly park that recently opened. Morgan’s Wonderland is an amusement and waterpark. The season begins in the beginning of March which many are anxiously awaiting. Morgan’s Wonderland won 2017’s amusement park of the year and after one visit, you’ll understand why!

Local Shops

The San Antonio Riverwalk offers plenty of shops to browse in. From smaller “mom & pop” stores to larger brand names, the Riverwalk attracts shoppers from all over. To make your shopping trip even more fun, you can check out the events hosted on the riverwalk for the spring to enjoy a little festival as you go in and out of the stores.


If you’re one to enjoy a festival here and there, San Antonio is your place! With year-round festival fun, you’re bound to find one you’ll enjoy here. The San Antonio Zoo hosts a “Feast with the Beast” festival where great eats come to the zoo. Another great festival that catches the attention of locals is the Floating Feast-ival. Boats floating on the San Antonio River welcome family and friends with a delicious meal.
