Summer Events in San Antoio

San Antonio, Texas is a gorgeous area to visit and vacation with your family. It doesn’t matter if you’re a tourist or if you call San Antonio your home. Whether you bring your children, or even your grandchildren, you’re bound to have a great time making even better memories in the beautiful city. Here are some of the fun festivals San Antonio has to offer this summer.

Morgan’s Inspiration Island Opening

After two years of construction, the much anticipated opening of Morgan’s Inspirational Island is here. Opening day was June 17th, and this brand new waterpark will be a blast for children and families this summer. Inspiration Island will be a bridge off of theme park, Morgan’s Wonderland. Designed with special needs in mind, this park is built for anyone and everyone looking to have a good, normal time.

Jungle Boogie Nights at the San Antonio Zoo

Every Friday night from June 2 through September 1 in 2017, the San Antonio Zoo will host “Jungle Boogie Nights” with live music. Along with the excitement of wild animals, guests can enjoy the food trucks and family games. This event is only $9 in admission, and lasts between the hours of 6:00-9:00 p.m. for a roaring old time.

Dive In Movie at Splashtown

Sitting just outside of the huss and fuss of downtown San Antonio, Splashtown is wildly fun waterpark. Aside from the 50 plus attractions that draw in guests, you can cool off in the pool and watch a movie at the same time. “Dive In Movies” happen every Friday throughout the summer, playing family-friendly movies that everyone can enjoy.

Family Film Series

The Mission Marquee Plaza hosts drive in movies. For those of you who prefer to watch your movies on dry land rather than at Splashtown, this is the place to be. Drive in movies bring back tradition and something you can introduce to your kids, and even grandchildren. The Family Film Series takes place all summer long, and even extends into the fall, ending in November. You can’t beat family-friendly movie nights in San Antonio!
